Topeny exists for one reason: too many “reviews” online are really just rewritten spec sheets. We wanted a site built around actual testing — where every verdict is backed by something we ran, installed, timed, or measured ourselves, and every headline is something that just happened, not something recycled from a press release three months old.
That’s why our content is split into two formats instead of the usual reviews-and-news model:
- Test Reports — structured, hands-on evaluations. We install it, use it under conditions specific to its sub-category, and publish what we found — good, bad, or mixed.
- Bulletins — short, fast updates on releases, price changes, security incidents, and industry shifts, published as they happen so you’re not finding out a week late.

Our testing philosophy
Every Test Report follows a repeatable process: define what the sub-category demands — a Torrenting VPN needs P2P support and sustained speed; a Mobile Game needs to run well on mid-range hardware, not just flagship phones — run the product against that standard, and document the result in plain terms, including where it underperforms. We’re not interested in flattering a product because it’s popular, and we’re not interested in trashing it for clicks either. We report what we find.
